Getting Started¶

This section is for people who want to run Windows on an Apple Silicon Mac. If you'd rather work on Aurora Silicon itself, start with the developer guide.

Is this ready for me?¶

Aurora Silicon is experimental. It is a project you can follow, test, and help with — not something to depend on.

To write: an honest statement of where the project actually stands. Who should try it today, who should wait, and what "experimental" means in practice for someone's daily-driver machine.

What you'll need¶

To write: the hardware and software prerequisites — which Macs are supported, the minimum macOS version, free disk space, and anything the user must obtain themselves (Windows media, licences, a second machine, a USB drive).

How installation works¶

To write: a short, plain-language overview of what the installer actually does to the machine, so the user understands the change they're making before they make it. Two or three paragraphs, no command lines — those belong on the installation page.

What works today¶

To write: a brief pointer into feature support with a sentence on how to read it, rather than duplicating the matrix here.

Getting help¶

To write: where to ask questions and how to report problems — the Discord server, GitHub issues, and what information to include in a report.
